Local Groups

Whilton Village Hall

Village Hall - is available for hire for meetings or social occasions where you might need a little more space.  It has seating for just over 40 people and has one main room, toilets and a small kitchen.  It is used by  the Parish Council and other village organisations for meetings and social events.  


If you're interested in hiring the hall, current charges are £10 per hour.

Parish Council

The Parish Council meets regularly in Whilton Village Hall and members of the public are welcome to attend meetings and have an opportunity to address council on agenda items, for no longer than 3 minutes. If you would like to sign up to the village circulation list, which means you will receive news items that affect the village.  


You can find out more about the Parish Council, including all  the Council's documents e.g. agendas, minutes, financial statements, policies, etc. at their website.

Whilton Bellringers

Whilton belongs to the Daventry Branch of the Peterborough Diocesan Guild of Ringers.  As well as monthly meetings to visit other towers and ringers, they organise a number of social events, training events and inter branch competitions.  The wider community also have Societies within large companies and Universities - a great way to make new friends.

We are always keen to welcome new people of any age (10+) to our practice.  If you would like to have a go at learning to ring, or would just like to see us in action, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Aperture Photography Group

The Aperture Photography Group (APG) was formed in 2016 with aim of providing a new type of photography group, a non-competitive environment where photographers could come together to learn, improve and share their interest in photography.  


If you are interested in developing your photography and would like to find out more, then why not come along to one of our meetings as our guest. Meet the members, see what we are doing and, if you like what you see, join the Aperture Photography Group.

Whilton Local History Society

The Whilton Local History Society was formed in order to share, encourage and promote interest in the fascinating local history of the parish of Whilton and its surrounding area. The group meets regularly throughout the year and arranges outings to local venues with a link to Whilton's history.
The  group is open to everyone who is interested in the history of Whilton and the local area. Visitors are welcome but there is a charge of  £3. Membership for the year is only £10 and there are usually 6 meetings every year.

Whilton Gardeners' Association

The WGA meets every two months in Whilton Village Hall. If you would like to join the Association, particularly those of you who may be new to the village, for a £15 annual subscription you can enjoy:

  • Regular, informal meetings where we have guest speakers, demonstrations and visits.
  • A summer social evening in addition to an annual Christmas supper.
  • Discounts at Whilton Locks Garden Centre.
  • Discounts on seed, flower and vegetable purchases.
  • Garden visits and outings.

Visitors and non-members are always welcome to attend meetings.  The charge for non-members is £3 each per evening.

Whilton Allotments

Whilton village is fortunate to have its own allotments. There are often spare allotments, so if you fancy growing your own fruit and veg, then please get in touch.

Whilton creative group

The group has been set up to help locals discover their creative side. It is a friendly relaxed tutor led group. Each session costs £4.00 payable in advance.  Some materials for experimenting will be provided and you will be asked to supply a list of materials yourselves.

Session are alternate Thursdays during term time.
